Kudu's Founder

Kudu Expeditions was founded by Lee Mears. In a previous life he was an Officer in the British Armed Forces where, as an ammunition specialist and bomb disposal officer he led troops through peace and war in Kosovo, Oman, and Iraq before moving on to set up Kudu Expeditions. Lee leads many of Kudu's trips and with 16 years of adventurous travel in Africa and the world under his belt, he thought it was time to help bring real adventures to everyone. The basic philosophy behind Kudu Expeditions stems very much from Lee's single minded vision - that anyone, no matter what their background or experience, can achieve truly amazing things. With the right support, training and help, we aim to make incredible adventures a reality for all riders who join our expeditions.

Our Staff

We at Kudu Expeditions have a policy of employing not only enthusiasts, but professionals. That means that the person who is leading your expedition will be highly experienced, the person working on your bike will be a professional mechanic and our medics are trained and highly experienced. It is our core of full time staff who lead our expeditions and there is quite simply no other company out there who can draw upon such an in-depth knowledge of vehicle based Trans-Africa and Global travel.

Our Business

Kudu Expeditions is at present a relatively small, but highly specialised company. Based in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside near Malvern in England, we operate full time from our workshop and offices employing mechanics, administative staff and even paramedics when required for our big trips. Our specialism is vehicle based expeditions, and we are all genuine motorcyle and 4x4 enthusiasts - as you may have noticed!

Your Financial Protection

Travel Trust AssociationWe fully comply with the UK tour operator regulations and are members of the Travel Trust Association, number U6023. This means that the money that you pay to us is protected, and in the unlikely event of our financial failure you will be able to get your money back.

Kudu and Riders (Riders for Health) - Charity Sponsorship

We are a profit making organisation and all of our business activities are financed by ourselves and our customers – every single penny donated to Riders gets given to Riders. Our link to charity is solely through our fundraising activities. We run expeditions through some of the poorest regions on earth, and as such we feel a responsibility to put something back – hence our involvement with this charity. If you would like any more information on exactly who we are and what our relationship with Riders is then please get in contact with us. If you would like to donate then click the link on the left side of the page to download our charity sponsorship pack which has more information on exactly what Riders do, and how we raise money for them. Please donate as little as £10 and help this very worthwhile cause.
