TRANS-AFRICA! The life-affirming, life-changing journey and a voyage of intense and bewildering experiences. Africa will always be our first love at Kudu and it remains our favourite trip! Our 2010 expedition is already in the planning stages, and this time it is back to the west coast for the ultimate off-the-beaten-track adventure.

Trip Highlights - 2008 Expedition

  • Day one - feel the nervous excitement and thrilling sense of disbelief as you line up for the group photo in London at the start of your ride-of-a-lifetime.
  • Your trip across Europe - get into the daily routine of life on the road as Africa comes ever closer day by day.
  • Egypt - land of Pharoes and Pyramids and gateway to the Sahara Desert. Feel the sand beneath your wheels for the first time!
  • Get well off the tourist trail as we enter into Sudan, a place quite unlike any other. Meet perhaps the friendliest and most welcoming people on earth in a vast and tough country.
  • Ride the testing but simply spectacular roads through the heights of Ethiopia - a magical, mythical and beautiful country.
  • Enjoy a few luxuries and spot big game in Kenya's stunning game parks as we cross the equator for the first time.
  • Negotiate the bussle and chaos of Kigali in Rwanda and perhaps see Gorillas in the mountains of eastern Congo.
  • Get back into wide open spaces and enjoy all the sights and sounds of Africa "off the beaten track" in Zambia.
  • Experience scenery so breathtaking you will need to pinch yourself as you ride along in the vast emptyness of Namibia.
  • Ride down to the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, contemplating the fact that perhaps you aren’t quite ready for the adventures to end!

We also run pre-trip training which is included in the price.

If you are as inspired by the thought of undertaking such an adventure as we are, but have concerns about how suitable you may be, simply either e-mail or phone us, and together we will be able to find out if this kind of adventure is for you – you may just surprise yourself!

*  In Africa things change fast; borders close, visas are refused for unknown reasons and routes become impassable.  Although we will strive to overcome all obstacles the organisers reserve the right to alter the routes from the ones listed here.
