The American Continent from top to bottom. From icy northern seas above the Arctic Circle in Alaska, over vast prairies and mountain ranges, the tropics and colour of Central America and through almost unbelievable landscapes in Peru and Chile before finally finishing in Argentina. When you ride to Tierra del Fuego on the southernmost tip of the Americas, you will have seen the best that the continent has to offer. Run in the usual Kudu style we will also be getting off-the beaten track too - you will be given options to ride truly adventurous off-road trails to camp out into the wilderness as well. Trip Highlights*

  • Riding the Dalton Highway high above the Arctic Circle, and then turning southwards for the next 20,000 miles and nearly 4 months of Trans-American adventures!
  • Riding the Alaska Highway into Canada and the Rockys - experience Icefields Parkway, simply stunning natural beauty and some of the best rides we have ever experienced.
  • Crossing into the USA at Glacier National Park and riding the famous "Going to the Sun" road.
  • Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley - must-see sights on any Trans-America journey.
  • Crossing into Mexico and starting the adventures for real! New culture, new language, new rules of the road - and best of all the Copper Canyon to explore and get out into the wild.
  • Guatamala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama - Caribbean seas, volcanoes, a very famous canal and an altogether different pace of life - savour the sights and sounds of Central America.
  • Exploring the adventurer's paradise - Peru. A simply beautiful country packed to the brim with culture. See the Nazca Lines, ancient Inca ruins and ride breathtaking roads high into the Andes.
  • Riding onto the world's largest salt flats at Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia - a unique experience! (pictured left)
  • Riding across the Atacama desert in Chile, one of the driest places on earth, and then into the wilderness of Patagonia.
  • Tierra del Fuego and the end of the road. The culmination of nearly 4 months of adventure and a continent conquered - time to relax during the end of expedition celebrations as the reality of what you have just achieved begins to sink in!

Your Expedition Support Crew


We at Kudu have a policy of not just employing enthusiasts, but professionals and you can expect to be supported by the best. You will have plenty of time to meet your support crew, and each other in the run up to departure at our pre-expedition rider presentations, and during your training sessions. Kudu's Trans-America crew boasts many years of experience living, working and leading tours in the Americas and we believe they know the continent better than anyone.

With first hand knowledge of the countries and routes we will be taking, experience of leading and supporting overland tours in the Americas and with their technical skills and practical experience maintaining vehicles on the road, you can rest assured that you are in the hands of the best in the business.

Pre-Expedition Training

We at Kudu take great pride in running thoroughly professional expeditions which are open to anyone with a desire to challenge themselves and what they are capable of. You do not need to be a highly experienced motorcyclist, off-road expert or have a huge amount of adventurous travel experience. With Kudu's unique pre-expedition and en-route training, all included in the price, you can begin the toughest challenge of your life well prepared for what lies ahead.

Expedition orientation (1 day):

  • Meet the Kudu team and each other
  • Equipment familiarisation
  • Route familiarisation
  • GPS and navigation training
  • Expedition administration

Off Road training (2 days):

  • Dedicated off-road instruction and practice to help you get the most out of your 16 weeks of adventure

Mechanics and first aid (1 Day):

  • Motorcycle maintenance
  • Basic motorcycle repair
  • Puncture repair
  • First Aid training

Kudu's motorcycles

Ride one of our bikes or bring your own - the choice is yours. Kudu's bikes will be the new BMW F800GS, the perfect vehicle for long distance adventures being rugged, comfortable, and equally at home on the tarmac or dirt. They will all be fully kitted out for the expedition with aluminium panniers and other essential modifications.

They will also have a full and thorough pre-expedition service by our own very experienced mechanics, and you will get the added bonus of knowing that our expedition support vehicles will be kitted out with all the tools and spares to keep it on the road. You will also get the option of purchasing your expedition ready bike from us.


Am I Suitable?

We at Kudu Expeditions pride ourselves on striving to make these amazing adventures accessible to all, irrespective of background or experience. We do this by talking to our customers, and making sure that they have a good understanding of what the expedition entails before they commit to it. We also run pre-trip training which is included in the price.
